Sepang 1000km Endurance (S1K) 2010 – Qualifying
Team Pentagon J’s Racing upsets the form book as they managed the fastest time in qualifying today to take pole position for tomorrow’s second edition of the Sepang 1000km race at the Sepang International Circuit.
Powered the highly experienced Japanese drivers Junichi Umemoto and Wataru Maeyama, the team, which has Malaysian Chris Tan as their third driver, recorded an average lap time of 2 minutes 38.358 seconds around the 5.543-km track in their Honda Integra DC2, edging the more fancied Type R Racing Team and MOFAZ Racing.
Joining Team Pentagon on the front row would be JC Racing Team, which has Eddie Lew, Keifli Othman and Patrick Tam behind the steering wheel of the Honda Civic EK car. The team recorded an average lap time of 2 minutes 38.381 seconds.
A total of 56 cars would start the race at noon, which would run for about 181 laps and time span of 9 hours.
