Gallery – Goodyear International Drift Round 1 Part 1

Coming back into our normal weekday routines, the rush hour and traffics, how about a bit of an eye candy from the recent Goodyear International Drift to sooth away some headache. A few sideways moment wouldn’t hurt and with a cup of coffee and a muffin it would make for a lovely day.

Here’s Ah Fai’s machine sitting pretty in the garage.

Line up the queue for a practice tandem run.

On his approach to the first entry. Ah Fai’s was steadily doing 90+ km/h to 100+ km/h entry speed.

Fanga Dan’s helmet is a simple white. It says “Racing Car Helmet”, so that no one will confuse this as a bike helmet?

RB26 inside Holden Commodore is a nimble machine. It must have been a significant mod to the suspension and chassis since this car is not your usual drift machine. This machine is a testament to pure automotive pornography, i’m telling you.

I’m getting a bit of artistic here. Kinda like the building here as a background. Only if it could be well lit up by the sun. Putrajaya is a pretty interesting track but one of the big downside is the tight and twisty nature of it. Plus the to get a photo of a car from the front attacking the clipping points is near impossible due to the limited view and access. Hence I had to settle for more of a back shots.

Helmet is a driver’s identity. This is Jane Cheah’s identity. A Pokemon character jumping higher than the stars? Perhaps there is a story behind those design concepts. We never know.

Ariff had a mechanical failure. He had to abort qualifying.

Hanizam and Jane burn some rubber!

Ivan Lim is a Singaporean drifter.

The heat was almost unbearable when the sun was at its peak, but Ivan managed to keep it smooth drifting.

Hashiguti Anderson was the sole representative from Brazil. His runs has been nothing short of impressive every single time.

The approach to this turn is quite amazing. A downhill turn where the driver must place the car perfectly for the next clipping point he cannot quite see until almost few meters away.

Team Touge Motorsport keeps the drifting despite the huge damage on the back of its machine.
