Super GT 2010 at Sepang – Race Day : Through the Lens Part 1

The irresistible Nissan GT-R. Still unbeaten at Sepang since its debut in 2008.

The 10th edition of the Malaysian Super GT race at the Sepang International Circuit saw a thrilling battle for victory between the GTR and the HSV-010. Relive some of the moments during the race through these collection of images.

Masahiko Kondo, director of Kondo Racing. A very popular figure in Japan, this singer, lyricist and actor is also a part time racing driver. He founded the racing team Kondo Racing in 2000, and now owns and directs a team which competes in Super GT. It’s interesting to note that this guy attracts more fans and photographers attention than his drivers on the grid before the race.

HASEMI MOTOR SPORT’s entry for the GT300 Class, the HASEMI SPORT TOMICA Z blasting through the front straight at the Sepang International Circuit. They finished the race in 5th place.

During the early stage of the race, the battle for the lead was fought between the CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R and the ARTA HSV-010.

Honda is very secretive with the HSV-010, limiting access especially for someone with a camera. It’s not easy to get close to the car even on the grid, because they put in a divider between the car and the spectators.

Shinya Hosokawa ready to go for the RIRE Lamborghini RG-3. 2 more Lamborghinis were sent by JLOC for the GT300 Class, making it 3 Lamborghinis on the grid. JLOC stands for Japan Lamborghini Owner’s Club.

Despite being slower than the GT500 Class, the GT300 Class also provided some excellent close racing. The HASEMI SPORT TOMICA Z, the JIMGAINER DIXCEL DUNLOP F430 and the ARTA Garaiya were involved in an immense battle throughout the whole race. They finished in 5th, 4th and 2nd respectively.
