WRC 2010 Round 7 – Rally Bulgaria Day 3 : Citroen Sweeps the Top 4 Spots

The top six positions remains unchanged from Day 2 as Sebastien Loeb takes the Rally Bulgaria victory, ending the day with a 29.5 seconds gap from 2nd place man Toni Sordo.

Loeb, Sordo, Ogier and Solberg in excellent form for Citroen.

The top 4 spots were occupied by the Citroen C4 WRC, with privateer Petter Solberg in 3rd and Sebastien Ogier in 4th. The fight for 2nd second place between Sordo and Solberg went right down until the final stages, with Sordo only just managing to hang onto the runner-up spot.

Plenty of work to do for Ford before they can take the challenge to Citroen.

Ford’s Mikko Hirvonen and Jari-Matti Latvala had to settle for 4th and 5th place. Despite the setback, Ford has already vowed to keep up the push for the title challenge and not letting Citroen getting away in the championship. Per Gunnar Andersson had an impressive debut in the Stobart-Ford by finishing in 7th place.

Loeb now holds a 51 points lead over Ogier in the driver’s championship standings and Citroen is 47 points ahead of Ford in the constructor’s championship battle. With only 6 rounds of the championship remaining, it remains to be seen if any other drivers can take the championship challenge to Loeb.
