As I write this back home in my not so comfy chair, the sound of the engine bursting through the woods still roared in the back of my mind. It was an astonishing experience. Petrolhead by nature, I’ve been to several events in these past few years. Nevertheless, as many of my colleagues pointed out, one can be there and seen it all. Yet still, these machines will never fall short to keep you in the state of amazement.

Rally is a combination of modern weaponry against rough nature. The vehicles must take its path with perfect harmony if it wants to succeed against any opposition. It’s agreeable by all scholars of the driving elites that it’s not a straightforward affair.

It has to be subconscious act for both the men and the machines. For the men behind the wheel, he has to be one with nature. He has to feel it, communicate with it and respond to it and never to provoke it.

For a mere mortal, comprehending everything about the intricate matters is simply mind boggling. Seemingly surpassing any physical restrictions of earth realm. In science, it’s understood that energy is never destroyed; it shifts from one form to another. The knowledge on how to alter and exploit it, is the most important game one has to master.

Karamjit is clearly from where I was aiming my camera, is a rally demon. He doesn’t stop at anything, he never had a conservative run and he will jump at each bump with full speed ahead. I had this shot from the back, Nazim had the shot from the front.

On the first Day, it was typical hot weather all day. But the weather had taken a turn on Day 2 after the morning stage was completed. The cloud literally changes color and the rain is imminent. On the final stage, as the indigenous people would say, the God of Rain was there to take charge.

Malaysian Rally is a big thing with the townsfolk, not only they knew about the team quite well, it’s an event they look up to every year. I had few conversations with some of them. It does help talking to the people who knows this place like the back of their head. I’m looking forward to see you guys again in the future.

I present to you the principal of MRU Motorsports, Mr. Rafiq. We owe him million thanks for the support and partnership of these past few events. We are currently in the planning to bring racerevo readers to a special visit, or a closer look at MRU Team and the men behind it.

This is him in action,

Another shot of him in the woods.

Mr. Rafiq final run in the dry before the rain,

Katsu Taguchi first day was not smooth sailing, the car is clearly sick as you can see the emergency signals are switched on. By Day 2, these signals became a common sight. The nature takes its command and one by one is falling victim to it.

The rain closes the chapter of Round 2 Malaysian Rally. But I’m still hungry and I will definitely pen more thoughts on the rally in the coming weeks.
